This is the last drumming evening until 7th September as there are no sessions in August.
These evenings run twice a month. You can join at any time as Tim Byford who leads the group always begins with basic strokes to warm up. He continues our exploration of rhythm and introduce new stokes and patterns as the class progresses so you can stick with the strokes you have just learnt or join in with those that are more complex. The class is suitable for beginners and also for those who have had some practice. At the end of the session the group has a period of free improvisation and this is when you see just how much you have learnt and feel a strong sense of connection as we all play together. Playing a frame drum is an effective way to unwind, relax and open up. It can help release any feelings of constriction or simply ground ourselves because it is a meditation. It is difficult for the mind to develop thoughts because we are focussing on the rhythm, our hands and we are only in the present.
You don't have to have played a drum before- everyone has rhythm. £10/session. Frame drums provided.
