WEDNESDAY: Yoga Nidra 6.30pm-8pm

THURSDAY: Yin Yoga/Myofascial release 6.30pm -8pm

FRIDAY MORNING: Power hour Vinyasa Flow 9am -10am (teacher: Lucy)

Tuesday and Friday are vinyasa flow classes and adaptions are given throughout as only you know your own body. The classes are a form of moving meditation and you are encouraged to make this a personal practice and depending on your energy levels and how you feel it will change from week to week. The classes are not suitable for complete beginners but for anyone who has some experience as you are encouraged to take things at your own pace.

The classes will focus on grounding, on building strength and cultivating a sense of peace through the breath and through awareness of the sensations in the body. Developing this connection during these times when so much is unknown will help us build trust in ourselves and is key to mental and physical resilience.
Teacher: Sarah Marten and Lucy Shardlow

How VINYASA FLOW helps our bodies and minds

  • Strengthens and tones the body

  • Reduces risk of injury and improves flexibility and circulation

  • Increases stamina

  • Calms the mind down by inviting us to synchronise movement with breath

  • Removes tension and obstacles in the body to allow breath and prana to flow enhancing energy

YIN YOGA/MYOFASCIAL RELEASE: This practice is designed to help you sit longer and more comfortably, in meditation by stretching connective tissue around the joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine). A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia. It will come at the end of the class and is a time for reflection and can increase flexibility and balance - as well as releasing stored tension from the body. We have blocks, bolsters, rollers, balls and other aids to help assist your practice. No experience necessary.

YOGA NIDRA: Yoga nidra is a form of yogic sleep and is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. It is done lying down comfortably in savasana (corpse pose) and a systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness. Anyone can do Yoga Nidra. It promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health. We will have a short gentle yoga practice at the beginning and this again will be floor based.
The 90 minute classes are £15/class The one hour class is £10/session
