This practice will be done in candlelight. Definition of Yoga Nidra. It is both a process and a state. You can be in a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping and Yoga Nidra is a set of techniques to help you reach that state.
The class start with some very gentle yoga on the mat to bring awareness to your body - it will be some gentle yin/restorative and this is done lying down. We will then go into a guided meditation and you may find that you drop off without realising it and come back again without realising. The mind through the body will be exploring different states of consciousness. It’s one of the paradoxes of yoga and yoga nidra- one statement is true but so is the opposite. Yoga Nidra is the state between waking and sleeping. It is when our brain is most plastic so its easier to bring new things into our lives and have a greater understanding of who we really are and not what we think we should be - we can begin to feel our true self.
